Percent Het Chart

Use this chart to determine the percentage heterozygous (het) of your offspring.  Percentage het is the chance, indicated by a percentage, that the offspring will inherit the desired gene.  A glider either will inherit the gene, making it 100% het, or it won't and will be a standard grey.  For example, if you have a 33% het, the probability of that glider inheriting the gene is 33%, and it has a 66% chance it is a standard grey.  You will know for sure that you glider is a het when it is paired properly to reproduce the desired color.  Once the color is reproduced, then you have proven your glider is a het, and records should be changed to reflect "100% het (proven)".

This is the same chart that has been used for many, many years by many glider breeders, and these are the percentages you will typically see denoted in the genetics section of the online database.  Although there are other charts out there, this is the most common and longest used chart by sugar glider breeders nationwide.
