FAQs about Glide-arium™ Mesh Enclosures
Q: Is a Glide-arium™ mesh enclosure a good travel cage?
A: Yes. They are able to be broken down and put into a tote and are easily set up when needed. I recommend the Cottage as a minimum size Glide-arium™ for a pair of gliders.
Q: Is a Glide-arium™ Cube mesh enclosure a good travel/overnight cage?
A: NO. This size is absolutely not sufficient for any overnight or extended stays other than for a sick/injured glider where a normal cage is not ideal. The Cottage Glide-arium™ is the smallest recommended for a travel/overnight cage.
Q: Who makes Glide-ariums™?
A: Official Glide-ariums™ are made by Shelly Sterk and her sister, Dallie Greszler with SpinZone Global. All orders are currently going through SpinZone, click HERE to order.
Q: Can a glider chew through a Glide-arium™ mesh enclosure?
A: It is possible. I do have a few customers that have chewers, yet they have never tried to chew through their Glide-arium™ mesh cage.
Q: How do I assemble the frame?
A: For instructions, please visit my Assembly Instructions page.
Q: Can you hang cage accessories from the mesh?
A: No, hanging items from the mesh will damage the Glide-arium™ mesh.
Q: How do I make a water bottle holder?
A: For instructions, please visit my How-To page.
Q: What do you use on the bottom as a drop pan?
A: I recommend putting a waterproof barrier under them to protect whatever they are sitting on. The easiest thing to do with a Glide-arium™ cage is to simply wipe the floor out each morning with a damp paper towel. I also have a hand held vacuum that I use just for that to clean the "pieces" up each morning. An actual drop tray isn't needed. Another thing you can do is cut a piece of fleece the size of the floor and put it in and tuck under the frame. Then you can remove it, kind of shake it off and wash it. You'll need several of these to change out as the "stuff" will stick to the fleece; also fleece holds odor so routine change-outs will need to be made.
Q: I purchased a Glide-arium™ mesh enclosure, how do I put it together?
A: There are step-by-step instructions as well as downloadable sheets HERE.
Q: How do I hang stuff in the Glide-arium™ mesh enclosure?
A: You need to have stainless eyes, large baby links/shower curtain rings, or fleece pole covers with tabs that go over the pvc poles. Below is a photo of a Glide-arium™ cage; shown below using fleece pole covers and another using stainless eyes both without the Glide-arium™ mesh cover for display purposes.
